Projects we Fund

Since 2021, we’ve donated €500,000 to 35 initiatives, each contributing in their own unique way to restoring ocean health.

How we choose the projects we fund:

With the support of our Scientific Advisory Board, we select projects that create real, lasting change for the ocean—and are part of a bigger global effort to bring marine life back to health.

Inspired by marine scientist Carlos Duarte’s groundbreaking study Rebuilding Marine Life (Nature, 2020), we focus on six key strategies—known as recovery wedges—that have been proven to restore ocean health. When combined and scaled up, these actions will enable marine life to recover within a single generation.

1 beer = 1 parcel of ocean (really) protected

Ocean Born Foundation is currently raising funds through the sales of Ocean Beer in France to support Blue Alliance, an organisation developing and managing large-scale Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). Through this partnership, every litre of Ocean Beer sold finances the protection of 640 m² of ocean for one year in some of the world’s most biodiverse and threatened marine ecosystems.
